Viva Los Cabos

This is more like it.
The Cactus Rental guy showed up in a similar car and handed me the keys. He stayed behind with a battery charger to sort out the other one. We tossed our bags in the trunk and headed south. I love the landscapes down here. Long stretches of desert highway, scrubby mountains crashing into the Pacific. The stark contrast of a white-washed compound housing a Mexican Marine infantry battalion. Such a cool drive.
We arrived at the Cabo Surf Hotel & Spa about an hour before check-in, but they had a room ready for us. Cold, clean, and mere steps away from Playa Acapulquito – we were happy. We dropped bags and hit the beach. I thought I would learn to surf on this trip, but I settled on a pair of boogie boards for me and the boy instead. We’ve spent the last 36 hours indulging in too much sun and too much food. Tomorrow, we fly home to the ugliness of Houston.
The moon over the ocean last night was mesmerizing. I didn’t want it to end.
